Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a structured type of talk therapy. Mental health professionals use it to help with mental health issues and emotional problems. It's one of the most common and well-researched therapy methods.

CBT is based on several key ideas:

  • Psychological issues can stem from harmful thinking patterns.

  • Emotional problems can come from learned behaviours that are not helpful.

  • Issues often relate to negative core beliefs about yourself and the world.

  • People can learn better coping strategies to alleviate their symptoms and enhance their mental health.

In CBT, a mental health professional guides you to examine your thoughts and feelings. You'll learn how your thoughts impact your actions. Through this process, you can change negative thoughts and behaviors, adopting healthier habits instead.

The Gottman Institute Method is a couples therapy that examines how partners think and feel about their relationship.

Developed with more than 35 years of research, the Gottman Institute Method addresses conflicts and their resolution, going deeper than daily interactions.

It also aims to rebuild friendship and love, fostering shared meaning. We will assist you in building trust, love, intimacy, and positive interactions while changing communication patterns.

In our first couple's session, we'll meet for 80 minutes. Later, we'll have individual consultations along with couples therapy. We can discuss your needs when we meet in person.

Our focus is on finding solutions rather than placing blame. I encourage you to be compassionate toward yourself and your partner as we work together.
